Disney Ticket Giveaway!!

Hey friends! Yesterday’s run went as well as expected.  My knees are doing better but I could feel them tightening up around mile 2.  I stopped each time they hurt and stretched my IT band.  That seemed to help.  I’m going to start gradually increasing my miles again but I’ll be taking a lot of stretch breaks and my new foam roller will be my new best friend hahah ok now to the part you all care about...

Some of my favorite Disney memories

I’ve decided to do another contest and this time I’m giving away 2 Disney tickets!  I’m blessed to have a job that provides me with several tickets each year and last year several went to waste.  In effort to keep that from happening again I’ve decided to spread the magic to my blog readers :)  My friends and family love Disney but they can only come so much.  So the rules are the same as they were for the Starbucks give away, all you have to do is comment for a chance to win :)  I know my comment section doesn’t always work on my blog so if it won’t go through you can comment on the facebook or twitter link you got this from.   But please do that as a last resort because it’ll make it more difficult for me to collect the names of all who have commented and I don’t want to leave anyone out by mistake!  Let’s keep it positive and tell me your favorite Disney memory, why you want to go, or just something you’re thankful for right now (doesn’t have to be Disney related).

The tickets can be used at Disney World, Disneyland, CA, Hong Kong Disney, Disneyland Paris…so my international readers can comment too!

Keep in mind the new Fantasyland in Disney World opens up Dec 6 so these would be perfect tickets for a chance to see that.  And all of my runDisney friends you can use them for post race :D  I can’t wait to hang out with all of you…I’ve got to try my first Dole Whip hahaha

Other reasons to visit Disney:
Food and Wine Festival (my favorite)
Christmas Decorations
The Osbornes light show
Spring and Garden Festival
Mickey Supreme Bars
Happy people everywhere

Fine Print Details:  They expire 6/13/13 so they must be used before then!  Please only enter the contest if you’re certain you’ll be able to use them by that date.  Also,  please do NOT sale them for any reason.  If you can’t use them, give them back to me :)  Mickey Mouse gives them to me for free so I’m not selling them and I don’t want you to either.    Also, be sure to say hi to Minnie Mouse during your visit…she wants to give you a hug :)
Halloween in Disney World!

Contest goes until Friday 9/21/12 and winner will be announced Saturday 9/22/12 so come back and check my blog then.  The winner will have 24 hrs to claim the tickets before they are forfeited to the next person.

I hope you all have a magical week!

Hi Samantha, I'd love the chance to win a pair of tickets! Love that you're passing them on instead of letting them go to waste - wish I had a job that gave me Disney tickets!

My favorite recent Disney memory was at Disneyland with my first half marathon. It was such an accomplishment for me, and the whole run was so much fun. I don't think any race will ever compare to a runDisney race now!

How generous of you! Hmm... well, one of my greatest Disney memories was taking my mom to Disneyland after my grandmother (her mom) had just passed away. Grandma had been living with my parents for 4 years and was diagnosed with dementia about 2 years ago. Although she was getting worse gradually, her death came up very suddenly and was a bit of a shock to everyone in our family.

Luckily, I had signed up back in January to run the Disneyland Half Marathon, and my mom had agreed to come with me to be my cheer section! :) This little vacation couldn't have come at a better time for us- It was so much fun getting to show Mom around Disneyland (she had never been before) and enjoy some girl time together after such a stressful, sad couple of weeks.

If I were to win the tickets, I would definitely use them so that we could go run/cheer another race together... maybe the Princess Half, since we are both teachers and have that week off of work. I know she would just love the chance to get out again, now that the house is so much more quieter without Grandma there!

Love a chance to win those tickets. I am participating in the Tink 1/2 in January. This will be my very first 1/2 and i am really excited! You did mention in the "fine print" that these tickets expire in June (LAST June)... did you mean to put 2013? I hope so.

Hey Sam!
I think my favorite Disney memory is celebrating my 23rd birthday at the Magic Kingdom. I've been to Disney countless times, but nothing compares to that day. I wore a 'Happy Birthday' pin and all day, everyone wished me birthday cheers. The best part was watching the fireworks and a cookie the size of my face because one of the team members said Mickey told her it was my birthday. What a magical day!
I would love to go back and bring my boyfriend who hasn't been since he was a kid!

Hello! I have been a Disney fan my entire life and just a few short weeks ago ran the Disneyland Half for the first time. The bling bug has hit and now I can't wait for the Tinkerbell Half! I live in SoCal and have so many wonderful Disneyland memories but my favorite was my son's 3rd birthday in 2009. We had several of our good friends and their kids join us for the fun. 13 of us in total and half were 4 and under! It was the middle of July but it was the best day ever! It wasn't too crowded and because we were such a big party we got on most rides ourselves. We easily filled the Small World and Pirate boats! No one had a meltdown (kid or parent). In short, the day was perfect! Thanks for sharing your love of Disney with others...way cool!

YEAH! So many wonderful Disney memories, but one of my most favorite has got to be traveling to Disneyland for the Disneyland Half Marathon in 2011.

It was my hubby's first trip there and he was not super enthused to start out with (we used to live in Orlando and visit WDW all the time). But, seeing his face as we entered the Grand Californian was priceless! I love Disney and seeing it through the eyes of others :D

Thanks for this great opportunity!!

It's incredibly awesome that you're doing this for everyone! But I still can't believe you've never had a Dole Whip!! I hope we get to take you out for your first in January if not sooner!

What a great thing to do!! You really are sprinkling pixie dust :)

My favorite memory was our last trip. The first time my kids had ever been. Just being able to share with them that magical feeling you get when you see the castle and walk down Main Street the first time. It will always be one of my favorite memories.

I'm thankful that my daughter is turning 14 in January! We've been waiting for this birthday so she can finally runDisney with me in the half marathons and move out of the 5K's!

Hi Sam!! I'm getting excited about running the Tower of Terror 10-miler, my first big race after a terrible ankle injury last year! (which I proceeded to run two 1/2s on so I could get my coast-to-coast medal...) You're so cool to have a ticket giveaway, I'll enter for ANY chance to visit my favorite place in the world!

Hi Samantha: My one and only memory is my son was 5 years old and we went with my family to Disney World in Florida. It was the 15th anniversary. As u can see it has been many years since I went and would truly love to go again. I am sure Mickey has been looking for me and that is why you have these free tickets from him. I am 52 years old but I am still a kid at heart. Sincerely, Melody Jackson

Best giveaway ever!

My current favorite Disney memory (it changes all the time) is from our most recent trip in July - my 5 yr old was granted a wish through Make a Wish, and we spent a glorious week at WDW with family we hadn't seen in years - they all joined us for Gabby's Wish.

Our first night there, we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and Gabby got her wish to meet Cinderella. A few days later, at breakfast at Akershus, after realizing that Belle called her by name, Gabby asked me how Belle knew her name was Gabby. I told her I had noooo idea, it must be magic. Gabby looked at me like I was crazy, and said, "Um. DUH. Cinderella told her. We're all best friends."

Noted, kiddo.

I can't think of just one! Anytime we can spend in WDW as a family is precious! I do remember when my DS was little he didn't like the fireworks- he would get all upset and say "They are going to wake Tinkerbell up!"

Hi Samantha!
I just found your blog through Team #run Disney's FB page. I can't wait to read more! I'm not sure I can narrow it down to a favorite memory bit I'd have to say that running my first Disney race with my daughter at the inaugural Wine and Dine Half Marathon in 2010 was one of the best! Thanks for having this contest and sharing the magic!

I cannot even begin to tell you what Disney means to me. Some of my most happiest memories are being with my family at Disney World; I cannot even narrow it down to one. I love the lights, the parades, the characters, the rides, and seeing all the smiling people who are enjoying such a magical place. I am planning to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February and taking a dear friend with me. This is a girls trip and she has never been to Disney World or any Disney Park. I promised her I would make this a trip she will always remember and the possibility of winning tickets would make it even better.

Just wanted to say how proud I am of you! Disney has truly taught you alot about compassion... Keep sharing the magic!

My favorite memory of going to Disney World in Orlando was taking my two little girls! It was a magical day. I now have the privilege of having two more daughters added into our family. They have had a hard life and would love nothing more than a day of fun. It can be hard to do all of those things that you wish in your heart. Winning these tickets would help us afford to take our whole family. They would have a family trip that they could always remember. We just want them to feel as if they really belong to us and that magic does really still exist. You are a sweet and generous person to do this. I am blessed that any of these deserving people will get to tell their family that they are going to Disney!

What a wonderful giveaway! And so glad to catch up with you here (a little bit!). My favorite Disney memory? Well, I've been many times (courtesy senior class trip) and those times have been awesome (and sleep-deprived), but I think my favorite memory is of the Osborne Family light show in (what used to be) MGM and being able to experience that with my family at Christmas a few years back. Disney is so incredibly magical, but Christmas ups that fifty-fold.

Oh, and my worst memory - getting stuck on It's A Small World at 2:45 in the morning, for well over an hour, on a boat with that song grating in my ears over and over and over again! I haven't been back on that ride since.

Thanks for the giveaway, Samantha!

Ah Disney memories. You have to love them. I have several including my first marathon, getting attacked by Minnie at Chef Mickey's (wasn't you was it?), and the list goes on and on. But I would have to say my all time favorite Disney memorie comes from a trip down I made with several of my friends in the fall of 2010. We settled in to watch Wishes and an elderly man in a wheelchair was trying to do the same. I immediately moved over so he would be able to have a good view of the castle. Upon talking with him, I discovered that he was 86 years old, and this was his first trip to Disney World. This hit me like a ton of bricks. It made me realize how lucky I have been to have gone dozens of times. Once the fireworks started, I glanced over at him and he had the biggest smile on his face. The same smile you see on children during their first trip. Afterwards, I shook his hand and asked him how he liked it. He was holding back tears and said, "Its amazing." All I could do was smile and wish him the best on the remainder of his visit. This taught me never to take a Disney trip for granted, or anything for that matter.

I couldn't decide which Disney memory was my favorite, so I'm sharing both. The first was from my childhood and it was in the first year that Disney World opened. I was a big fan of the Swiss Robinson's, and when I got to their treehouse, they could have made a Disney commercial out of my excitement. I think I spent the rest of the day there.

My other favorite memory was of taking my son there, and riding the Pirates of the Caribbean. He was so excited to be able to ride it, maybe as excited as I was with the treehouse. Unfortunately, his excitement turned to horror during the ride. Bless his little heart, it took awhile, and several rides through "It's a Small World", to redeem the day.

Sam, this is a great idea!! Very generous of you!

I think my favorite memory of Disney was when we took BB to Disneyland for her 3rd birthday. She was in awe of it all. We were watching the Disney/Pixar Parade one evening and her face just lit up. It was an indescribable feeling as a mother to see the immense joy and excitement on her face. She still talks about it, and likes to look at the pictures!

Keep contributing to that magic for others Ms. Vrooman! :)

My favorite Disney memory is finishing my first half marathon at Disneyland. Nothing compares to running at DL or WDW and I'm so happy my first race was a runDisney race.

Thank you for your contest and your willingness to pass along your unused tickets.

What a great contest!!!!

I absolutely LOVE your blog! :) And your Tink costume! :) My fave memory at Disney would certainly have to be running down Main Street during the Princess Half Marathon. I honestly LOVED Disneyland when we were there three weeks ago, and maybe because Princess was my first and I was very much better trained for it than I was at DL, Main Street was what really made it unforgettable. Like a princess running towards her castle... And I had my prince charming with me :)

Honestly, my favorite Disney Memory is introducing my husband to the Magic after we got married.
He was "not a fan" and now he loves it as much, if not more, than me!

He's a keeper :)
